Sometimes through the toughest obstacles, we find ourselves.
Sometimes through the toughest obstacles, we find ourselves.
For the majority of my life, my family has had to battle with cancer.
My mother had her first round of cancer when I was very young in her ovaries.
We had a couple years of a break but unfortunately it came back four more times.
For the majority of those earlier years my entire family [especially me] lived in fear. We were so scared for my mom- which seems silly looking back because my mom is the strongest soul I have ever known. Every time she would beat it & every time our family celebrated and grew.
The most recent bought of cancer and by far the worst stage yet [stage 4 metastatic] my mom put her foot down in the most admirable way I had ever seen. She told all of us "I'm done with the fear. I've beat this crap before and I'll do it again." The fire in my mother lit one in all of us. At that moment I realized - what has being fearful done for my mother? It's weighed her down & stressed her out even more while she's fighting this illness. Even though my mother did not win her last fight with cancer, her strength and message lives forever in my soul.
Without this will-power, she may not have made it as far. Sometimes when life beats us repeatedly, we fail to see the lesson it's trying to show us. We adopt all the negative thinking and programming that allows the illness or fear to take over and we lose ourselves. When my mother put her foot down that day, she changed the trajectory of our family. We all became motivators instead of fear mongers. We lifted each other up instead of crying ourselves to sleep. "It's not about what you did, it's about what you do next." And what we did next created the strongest bond our family has ever known.
My most recent job before deciding this path was working as a Medical Cannabis Consultant. I had so many folks come in going through the same fear my family once had. I had so many patients who would come in weekly just to talk. I realized how many were lacking the support of a good friend or a solid family member. How many folks just needed an ear, or an extra pump of motivation before they went to do something uncomfortable. And I saw myself in every pair of eyes that walked through that door. I felt honored to share the space with them. I felt honored they trusted in me to relieve themselves of pain by sharing what they had on their mind.
We all have painful experiences we've been through or are currently going through. We all need a shoulder, a cheerleader and a listening ear. But most importantly we need to get back on the track of celebrating our good moments instead of focusing around the bad ones. Just as we pattern ourselves into negativity - the same thing can be done through positivity. Focusing on gratitude and growth has been a very important step in my healing process. And through that mindset I learned how to turn my fear and discomfort into armor. Fear is the number one thing that holds us back from accomplishing the unthinkable. We are all capable of amazing things, and it starts with our mindset.
Life coaching helps us to lay out our dreams in an organized and achievable fashion. We often don't take the time for ourselves like we would for a friend, and in my mind a life coach is that friend that advocates for you.
A life coach is tailored to you & your experience. Do you need some extra motivation when it comes to certain things? A life coach can check in with you as often as you like to help you stay focused on your dreams. Do you have trouble organizing your plans because you are overwhelmed and just don't have the time to think about it? A life coach can help you reorganize your life by helping you sort through the necessary and unnecessary. I am here to help you see the options and possibilities in your own life, and to remind you of how capable you are of achieving whatever it is you set your mind to. It's all based on your wants and needs. I am here to help YOU become the best you. YOU call the shots.
I want to help you get there.
